Job Description:

  • We’re looking for someone who can work on tasks related to the maintenance of the company’s Dam Emergency Action Plan they have in place.
  • This person will demonstrate a positive attitude, customer service skills, problem solving skills and who has the ability to work collaboratively with business stakeholders.  


Responsibilities include:

  • In this position the Associate Security Specialist will have 3-5yrs in emergency planning with government organizations. 
  • The Associate Security Specialist should have a minimum of one-year experience working in an emergency management or disaster response organization, either as a paid or volunteer staff and have experience working a government EOC during a real activation or exercise.
  • The successful candidate must be familiar with basic emergency management principles and have completed the following FEMA online training as a minimum: IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800 and Cal OES {CSTI) course G606. 
  • They should have a minimum of one-year experience working in an emergency management or disaster response organization, as either a paid or volunteer staff; have experience working a government EOC during a real activation or exercise.


Required Skills and Abilities to:

  • Investigate complex and sensitive security problems.
  • Prepare a variety of administrative, investigative, and technical documents and reports using standard office applications for an audience that includes upper management and attorneys.
  • Coordinate investigations with external law enforcement agencies.
  • Travel to various and remote sites within the company’s service are.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, customer service skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with teammates and business stakeholders. 
  • Proficient knowledge - MSOffice (SharePoint).


Education and Licenses:

  • High school diploma or certificate of high school equivalency and nine years of relevant experience; or an associate degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and seven years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and five years of relevant experience.
  • 1 year experience working in an emergency management or disaster response organization as a paid or volunteer staff member.
  • Valid California Class C Driver License that allows you to drive in the course of your employment.

The hiring range for this position is $52 to $56 per hour. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity, and may also vary depending on candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience amongst other factors
