Centennial is looking for a Vice President of Operations to lead operational excellence for a Northern Kentucky nonprofit dedicated to providing education and care to at-risk citizens. We need a dynamic professional to oversee and optimize daily operations, ensuring effective program implementation and organizational growth.


The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and an excellent communicator. This role will collaborate with the President/CEO, Board of Directors, and senior leadership to implement the organization's mission and strategic vision, manage resources efficiently, and maintain high-quality program delivery.



RESPONSIBILITIES


Operational Leadership:

  • Provide organizational direction and leadership in all aspects of the organization's operations, including finance, human resources, program management, information technology and administration
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency, ensure compliance, and enhance overall effectiveness

Program Management:

  • Work effectively to manage the respective programs, program directors and their respective teams to ensure the successful execution of all projects and initiatives
  • Oversee program evaluation, impact assessment, and reporting to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement

Financial Management:

  • Collaborate with the finance team to develop and manage the annual budget, monitor financial performance, and ensure long-term financial sustainability
  • Make data-driven decisions to optimize resource allocation, ensuring transparency and accountability in financial reporting
  • Deliver consistent, accurate, and timely financial reports to support operational needs and provide the board of directors with precise information

Fundraising and Grants Management:

  • Support fundraising efforts and grant applications to secure funding for the organization's programs and initiatives
  • In collaboration with the Director of Development, cultivate relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders to expand the organization's network and resource base

Organizational Development:

  • Promote a positive and inclusive work culture that encourages professional growth, collaboration, and creativity
  • Identify talent gaps and implement recruitment, training, and retention strategies to build a skilled and motivated team
  • Initiate and maintain frequent accountability systems and reporting procedures

Risk Management and Compliance:

  • Develop and maintain risk management protocols and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards
  • Mitigate potential risks and proactively address issues to safeguard the organization's reputation and assets

Strategic Planning:

  • Participate in the development and implementation of the organization's strategic plan
  • Translate strategic goals into actionable plans and initiatives, tracking progress and adjusting strategies as needed

Board of Directors Support:

  • Collaborate with the President/CEO to support the Board of Directors, providing regular updates, reports, and analysis on organizational performance and key metrics

External Relations:

  • Represent the organization at public events, conferences, and forums, building relationships with key stakeholders and advocating for the organization's mission



QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing/Communications, or a related field
  • 10+ years of senior management experience in the business sector with a proven track record in operational leadership and program management
  • Extensive experience managing multiple disciplines, programs, divisions, or teams
  • Strong financial skills, including budget development, financial analysis, and reporting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to engage effectively with staff, donors, partners, volunteers, and other stakeholders, including nonprofits, corporations, government, and educational institutions
  • Demonstrated leadership and team motivation skills, promoting a collaborative and inclusive environment
  • Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making and a focus on outcomes and impact
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices for the organization
  • Passion for the organization's mission and a commitment to making a positive community impact
