Centennial is seeking an Executive Director to provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for a nonprofit organization that educates families, enhances communities and embraces, supports and empowers individuals with Down syndrome. The hired candidate will be joining a highly respected organization that operates with the utmost integrity to provide advocacy, outreach and high-quality programs and opportunities to the Cincinnati community and surrounding counties.


The Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization's operations, programs, fundraising, and community engagement efforts. The right candidate will be an empathetic, collaborative leader who wants to join a hard-working and effective team.


This position is Cincinnati based with a schedule that allows for some hybrid flexibility.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Provide inspirational leadership to staff, volunteers, and stakeholders, fostering a culture of teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs and initiatives to ensure alignment with the organization's mission and strategic priorities.
  • Provide staff leadership including development, managing and hiring.
  • Build on the current momentum of growth by owning the responsibility of keeping the team on the path forward.
  • Monitor program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Lead fundraising efforts, including donor cultivation, grant writing, and special events, to secure financial support for the organization's activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and funding agencies.
  • Develop and manage the organization's annual budget, ensuring financial sustainability and accountability.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue generation.
  • Work closely with the Board of Directors to provide regular updates on organizational activities, financial performance, and strategic direction.
  • Collaborate with the Board to recruit and engage new members who bring diverse perspectives and expertise.
  • Represent the organization in the community, serving as a spokesperson and advocate for its mission and programs.
  • Cultivate partnerships with other non-profit organizations, government agencies, and community stakeholders to maximize impact and reach.
  • Anticipate and solve problems with a high degree of self-awareness and empathy.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (master’s degree a plus)
  • Proven experience in non-profit leadership, with a track record of success in program management and strategic planning
  • Demonstrated ability to fundraise and grow operating budget
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and financial analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, build and maintain effective relationships with donors, board members, and community partners
  • Leadership style of collaboration and empowerment as opposed to micromanaging
  • Skilled at leading and motivating staff to achieve goals
  • Believes in achieving outcomes through the power of teams
  • Ability to engage, collaborate, and draw expertise from a governing board.
  • Savvy networker within community constituents and partner organizations
  • Eager to represent the organization in the community by attending many events and programs
  • Trustworthy and reliable to handle tough situations with fairness and resolve
  • Possess personal integrity, strong work ethic, problem-solving attitude, and excellent judgment
  • Willing to roll up their sleeves and do whatever is necessary
  • Servant leader who isn’t afraid to do the right thing even when it’s hard
  • Familiarity with the disability community or neurodivergence is a plus
