About the Company Hiring: Our client is a national transportation company that’s expanding their shared services group in Western, NY.

The IT Application Development Lead will coordinate all software maintenance and development activities. This pivotal role involves managing a team of developers, overseeing project lifecycles, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions aligned with business objectives.

• Develop and implement a strategic vision for software development that aligns with the organization's overall business goals. Define and prioritize development initiatives.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including business analysts, product owners, and quality assurance teams, to gather requirements, define project scope, and ensure successful project outcomes.
• Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of reliable, scalable, and high-performance software solutions.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies. Introduce new technologies and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the development process.
• Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors when necessary, managing relationships and ensuring deliverables meet quality and timeline expectations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in project management or software development are preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role. Proven experience managing software development projects, including Agile methodologies. Familiarity with project management tools.
• Solid understanding of software development technologies, languages, and frameworks. Previous hands-on development experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, propose effective solutions, and drive projects to successful completion.

Salary: $115,000 – $130,000

Job Status: Direct Hire. Primarily on-site.
