What Our Client Needs:


Our client is looking for an Ultrasound Technologist who performs routine and/or specialized diagnostic imaging exams. This technologist follows established Medical Imaging requirements and regulations to ensure safe patient care and to ensure safety of all and works collaboratively with healthcare team, and independently while also interacting with all patients from newborn through geriatrics.




What You’ll Do:


  • Obtain and examine requisition for procedure in order to be aware of study requested and patient’s condition. Consistently produce images of diagnostic quality.
  • Question patients before procedure to obtain history; document all relevant information.
  • Solicit and/or check consent forms and screening sheets assuring that patients have had no allergic reactions or other contraindications to specialized ultrasound procedures.
  • Perform all ultrasound procedures and exams with special attention to abdominal scans, retroperitoneal scans, obstetrics and gynecology scans, vascular scans, doppler studies and other anatomical areas as required, IR procedures (e.g. paracentesis, biopsies), and minor surgical procedures (e.g. cyst aspirations)
  • Perform ultrasound positioning, physiology, procedure preparation, and technical factors; operate all ultrasound equipment and can select and modify technical factors as needed.
  • Routinely prepare examinations for interpretation by the Radiologist to include correct identification, adequate clinical history, and previous sonograms for comparison.
  • Perform basic nursing functions in regard to patient care.
  • Perform positioning techniques as pertaining to US scanning.
  • Solve job-related problems such as equipment malfunctions, alternate patient positioning, different views, various scans, and the realization of equipment and patient limitations.
  • Maintain familiarity with cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform on-call procedures when performing the duties of an on-call Sonographer
  • Maintain familiarity of Quality Assurance requirements of all equipment in assigned area.
  • Perform aseptic technique and procedures pertaining to all exams
  • Prepare patients for procedures. Escort patients to dressing and exam rooms, provide verbal and/or written instructions and assist patients in positioning body parts to be imaged. Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure patient care, safety and comfort during scan.
  • Ensure equipment remains in working order. Report equipment malfunctions to Practice Manager or supervisor.
  • Perform related administrative duties including completing necessary forms, and maintaining procedure logs.
  • Retrieve imaging orders and input related data into the electronic medical record.
  • Maintain adequate supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned




What You’ll Need:


  • Associate’s Degree or higher preferred
  • 2-5 years of Ultrasound Technologist experience preferred
  • Valid and current American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) 
  • The position requires a person that is highly self-motivated with a desire to provide quality patient care while expanding services.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills are a must.
