Title: Chief Financial Officer

Location: South FL preferred but possible remote


Overview:

Our Client, a private fintech payments and neo banking company, is searching for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join their team of high-performing professionals and keep their finances positioned for continued success. The company is growing rapidly and looking for a leader who can guide the financial systems that drive them. The CFO will have a day-to-day, ongoing impact on company operations, helping to analyze, strategize, and grow their financial position. This seasoned strategist not only will understand current accounting practices and trends, but also will have experience raising capital, working with senior lenders and adapting to change. As a member of senior management, the CFO will be comfortable in a leadership role that requires clear and effective communication skills.


Responsibilities:

  • Work with senior managers to efficiently develop budget proposals, provide access to project finance information, and ensure contract compliance and timely reporting
  • Research revenue opportunities and economic trends, analyze internal operations, and identify areas for cost reduction and process enhancement
  • Perform risk management through analysis of company liabilities and investments, and evaluate and manage capital structure
  • Oversee HR operations by coordinating with external service providers (ex: payroll, benefits, recruitment) and internal staff responsible for other aspects of HR
  • Monitor business performance with tracking tools, establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports for monthly and quarterly earnings reviews to management team and the Company’s board
  • Manage finance personnel and oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory entities (ex: Financial Accounting Standards Board, Internal Revenue Service, state attorneys general)
  • Financial Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives. Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team on financial matters
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Oversee the preparation of financial forecasts, budgets, and financial models. Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Provide insights and recommendations to optimize financial performance.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage the company's cash flow, liquidity, and working capital. Develop strategies to optimize cash flow and mitigate financial risks.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks, including credit, market, and operational risks. Implement risk management strategies and controls to safeguard the company's assets and financial stability.
  • Funding and Investor Relations: Manage relationships with investors, financial institutions, and stakeholders.
  • Financial Operations: Oversee financial operations, including accounting, taxation, treasury, and internal controls. Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Work with outside auditors to produce timely and compliant annual audited financial statements.
  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing finance team. Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • CPA qualification is mandatory
  • Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior finance leadership role within the fintech industry.
  • Strong knowledge of fintech payments and neo banking business models, regulations, and industry trends.
  • Excellent financial planning, analysis, and forecasting skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in fundraising, investor relations, and managing relationships with financial institutions.
  • Solid understanding of financial operations, including accounting principles, taxation, and internal controls
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think analytically and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
