Position Title: Senior Acquisition Specialist

Position Location: Combination of telework at the Contractor personnel residence when telework is authorized and Arlington, VA or other local facilities within the Washington DC area/National Capital Region.


Daily Responsibilities: 

  • Support contract pre-award functions, re-competes, task orders, agreements, and financial transfers. Assistance with procurement planning, weekly updates to the plan, advising, and assist with contract or task order issues involving scope and compliance.
  • Provide support in developing and providing configuration control and database management that will support contracts management. Provide and assist with developing cost and no-cost modifications, period of performance changes, COR changes, and other contract-related actions.
  • Provide support in performing analyses of evolving acquisition best practices, acquisition reform efforts, updates to acquisition and procurement policy and legislative changes.
  • Assist the government with tailoring, adapting, improving and implementing updated acquisition practices.
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies to support the development and buildout acquisition business processes and assist in establishing a Center of Excellence for best practices and processes.
  • Assist in establishing and implementing quality and process improvement.


Required Years of Experience (min):       

  • Minimum 10 years of experience managing or directing Acquisition Programs involving contract strategy and driving implementation of strategic contract opportunities.


Required Degree/Certification:           

  • BS/BA degree (preferred).
  • Allowable Substitution: Additional ten (10) years of related professional experience can be substituted for a BS/BA degree.


Required Experience:                                  

  • Assist the Government in establishing high-level contract strategy and driving implementation of strategic contract opportunities.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience with FAR and its application in federal contracting processes.
  • Expertise in using federal procurement and acquisition software tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough market research, cost analysis, and other contract related activities.
  • Relevant certifications are preferred, such as Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM), Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), or Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification.
  • DHS experience in similar position is preferred.


Required Clearance:

  • Must be U.S. Citizen
  • TS/SCI security clearance
