We are currently in search of an Accounting Manager for a Nonprofit Executive Development organizationThis is a Full Time, Fully Remote, Temporary-to-Permanent position

 

ORGANIZATION TYPE: Executive Development

LOCATION: Fully Remote

POSITION TITLE: Accounting Manager

SCHEDULE: Full Time (Monday-Friday; 35 hrs./wk.); Must be willing to work East Coast hours (9AM - 5PM EST)

DURATION: Temporary-to-Permanent

HOURLY PAY: $40-45/hr. DOE as a temporary employee (As a permanent employee, the salary range is $85-95K/yr.)

 

Is This Your Dream Job: As the Accounting Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting management decision-making by managing daily accounting operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting. You'll work closely with all levels of the organization's leadership and its Board of Directors, to implement financial strategies, maintain internal controls, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. 


Our Ideal Candidate:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a management role
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office required
  • Proficiency with Bill.com highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective accounting policies and procedures
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Must consistently provide the highest level of customer service and professionalism to corporate partners and team members.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet aggressive deadlines, and achieve high-performance goals in a fast-paced environment.


 

How You Will Spend Your Day:

 

  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and foundation brokerage accounts which include, but are not limited to, generating invoices, recording journal entries, managing cash accounts, and pursuing collections on receivables
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, reports, and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies. Reports shall include analysis depicted by comparative graphs, charts, and narrative summaries
  • Present reports and make financial recommendations to the management team and Board of Directors
  • Provide support for creating, reporting, and monitoring grant budgets
  • Manage the deferred revenue schedule
  • Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and plans, with input from senior leadership and Board of Directors.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of all accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process. Analyze forecasts and make recommendations on how to budget for personnel and operational infrastructure investments needed per the four-year strategic plan.
  • Create and maintain financial forecasts
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and external regulations.
  • Provide support for the annual audit process, including preparing and reviewing audit schedules.
  • Work with the VP of Operations to identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives
  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership, including presenting financial reports and analyses
