We are currently in search of a Development Assistant for a Social Services organizationThis position is a Full-Time, Hybrid, Temporary (~6 mos.) assignment.

 

ORGANIZATION: Social Services

LOCATION: Chicago, IL

POSITION TITLE: Development Assistant

SCHEDULE: Full Time (40 hrs./wk.); Hybrid (work in the office, at the senior center/pantry, or from home depending on work assignments)

DURATION: Temporary (~6 mos.)

HOURLY RATE: $22-26/hr. DOE

 

Is This Your Dream Job? As the Development Assistant, you will work as part of a dynamic team to optimize the fundraising and communications systems for philanthropic gifts, messages to the community, and participation in events that benefit the mission.


 

Our Ideal Candidate:


  • 2+ years experience in development
  • 1+ years experience in managing and maintaining CRM database (Salesforce)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with graphic design tools for use in digital, print, and website marketing; experience with Canva and/or Adobe preferred
  • Experience with content management systems (particularly Squarespace) preferred
  • Ability to occasionally work outside of business hours to support events


 

How You Will Spend Your Day:


  • Manage gift processing, solicitation, and acknowledgment efforts.
  • Assist with preparation, outreach, setup, and day-of corporate volunteer events, and at the Pantry.
  • Maintain accurate records, donations, current contact info, and RSVPs in the donor database, including data entry, running reports, and updating donor records.
  • Analyze donor data and generate development reports including dashboards, data analysis, and giving trends.
  • Support all development events and fundraising campaigns.
  • Research new grant opportunities and assist in gathering information for grant applications, administration, data collection, and monitoring.
  • Research and identify prospective major donors and proactively initiate sponsorship and funding ideas.
  • Support the Executive Director with research, data analysis, email responses, and reporting.
  • Support the Team with other duties as assigned.
