We are currently searching for a Data Specialist for a Research Foundation Nonprofit. The position is In-Person, and Temp- to -Perm, with an anticipated salary range of $57,000 - $72,000 DOE.

 

ORGANIZATION TYPE: Research Foundation Nonprofit

LOCATION: New York, NY 

POSITION TITLE: Data Specialist

SCHEDULE: Start 32 hours 4 days a week (September to October)

Increase to 40 hours 5 days a week (November to January 2025)

DURATION: 6 months  (Temp to Perm)

HOURLY RATE: $25-$33 

 

 

Is This Your Dream Job? As the Data Specialist, you will play a key role in maintaining and managing donor data, processing donations, and ensuring compliance with fundraising regulations. You’ll collaborate with a small, dedicated team, making a significant impact on fundraising efforts in a dynamic nonprofit environment.

 

How You Will Spend Your Day:

  • Maintain and update donor data in Salesforce, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Process and record various types of donations, including checks, EFTs, stock, and online contributions.
  • Generate and reconcile donor reports, including bi-weekly donation analysis and direct mail lists.
  • Oversee donation and tribute letter creation, ensuring accuracy before printing.
  • Manage donor inquiries and follow up, particularly for non-major donors and bequests.
  • Ensure compliance with donor management policies, IRS guidelines, and relevant regulations.
  • Perform data cleanup and quality control checks on entries made by other team members.


Our Ideal Candidate:

  • 4+ years of Salesforce experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Dropbox and Asana.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, customer service skills, and an ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational skills, punctuality, and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, with the ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate giving trends and donor cultivation strategies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a small team.
