Primary Objective:

The role of Shipping Manager involves overseeing and coordinating the activities within the shipping department. Responsibilities include managing shipping operations, adhering to customer requirements as per routing guides and vendor agreements, generating advanced shipping notices (ASN's), maintaining effective communication with carriers (TL / LTL / Small Package), overseeing report creation and review, collaborating with customer service, and ensuring accurate reconciliation of finished goods inventory.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategize, organize, and supervise shipping department activities and budget.
  • Conduct regular finished goods inventory checks as per organizational requirements.
  • Develop, refine, and continuously enhance shipping operations policies and procedures.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to gauge shipping operations efficiency.
  • Handle day-to-day administrative tasks such as record-keeping and paperwork processing.
  • Lead and participate in daily meetings with other managers to coordinate activities for achieving daily production targets and enhancing performance and productivity.
  • Complete annual training programs to optimize operational efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in shipping, 3PL, or production environments.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail; adept at managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Familiarity with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems is advantageous.
  • Proficient in understanding monthly revenue targets and daily run rates.
  • Effective communication skills to align team efforts towards achieving monthly business goals.
  • Demonstrated ability in decision-making and problem-solving under pressure and tight deadlines.

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor's Degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or related field preferred.
  • High School Diploma with relevant work experience will be considered.

Management Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of 8-12 individuals for routing and loading trucks serving multiple direct-to-consumer and retail customers.
  • Contribute to maintaining and reporting On-Time shipping metrics for all customers.
  • Provide training and mentorship to shipping teams and support the onboarding process for new personnel.
