Senior Software Engineer - Data Fulfillment

The Role

Our impressive client is looking for a Senior Engineer to help the Data Fulfillment Team build out a robust and scalable platform for making data available to their customers and partners. This role encompasses the design and implementations of services and platforms, advising on data and data access ergonomics, providing transparency into workflows, and securing customer deliverables.

The team is comprised of data nerds on a mission to empower their customers to smartly grow their businesses. And they’re looking for people with a broad range of experiences and perspectives, who are excited by their mission, values, and drive to change the short-term rental market. They carefully consider every application, not just those that check off all the boxes.

Here's what you'll get to do:

• Build out a platform to automate the production and delivery of data products to our customers and partners
• Work with batch (file-based) and real-time (API-based) deliveries
• Build and maintain services that power internal tools used by operations teams
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a small but quickly growing team of engineers
• Partner with our Product and Engineering teams to plan and scope work

Here's what you'll need to be successful:

• 7+ years of Python experience
• 1+ years orchestrating workflows with Airflow
• Experience supporting internal users with services and tools
• Experience with data products
• Strong relational and nonrelational database experience
• Comfort working with customer-facing teams, such as Sales and Success
• A customer and team-first attitude

Here's what would be nice to have:

• Distributed data processing experience, ideally using Spark
• Experience with, or an interest in learning Scala
• Experience inspecting data with command-line tools
• Experience securing data in multi-account AWS environments, using encryption, IAM policies, and S3 bucket policies
