TangoAlpha3 is seeking a VTC Technical Facilitator who is responsible for all aspects of operating and maintaining

Video Teleconferencing Facilities (VTF).


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all

perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.


REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: The Video Teleconference Technician operates a multitude of audio and video

teleconferencing equipment. Operational tasks include but are not limited to initializing facility

equipment, controlling audio environments, remote camera operation and presentation controls. Must

operate both secure and non-secure facilities. Operate and\or assist in operating facilities with and

without touch panel integration.


- Installation and operation of video teleconference equipment, troubleshooting of LAN based, IP and

- ISDN based audio and video end-points. 

- On-site technical support during video teleconference calls.

- Perform test connections and dry-runs. 

- Provide customer training on new installations. 

- Prepare written documents for user training and operational guides.

- Have experience with wireless and wired microphone setup and configuration. 

- Be able to lift and setup 15” speakers on telescoping stands, and wire them back to the amplifier.

- Strong understanding of videoconferencing, audiovisual presentations, and collaboration technology

  required. 

- Familiarity with both Dial-up (Switched) and Dedicated Subscriber Facilities. 

- Knowledge of Multi- point Conference switching modes; Voice activated, Lecture, Chair Control and Continuous

  Presence.


The Video Teleconference Technician’s responsibilities may include operation of computers, projectors

or other audiovisual equipment in conjunction with audio and video teleconferencing services; may

include scheduling audio and video teleconferencing sessions, training personnel in operation of audio

and video teleconferencing facilities, and other audiovisual equipment associated with audio and video

teleconferencing facilities.


Responsible for the operation of complex state-of-the-art cryptologic equipment, to include the

management and control of the classified keying materials and operation and maintenance of the

secure command and control video teleconferencing systems.


The employee will also perform remote network management functions utilizing proprietary software to

resolve operational problems throughout the network. The VTC Technician/Facilitator will resolve

network connectivity and interoperability communications problems by utilizing state-of-the-art

software tools and diagnostics.


A/V systems knowledge including cameras, displays, and echo cancellation systems used for audio and

video conferencing. Provide operation, hardware and software maintenance, oversight, coordination,

documentation, reporting and management for video teleconferencing systems, facilities and networks.


Monitor the performance of video teleconferences in order to correct any problems that may arise, e.g.

loss of video, loss of audio, or disconnects.


Coordinates with internal departments and external sites by reviewing and evaluating requirements and

recommends facilities based on specific requirements. 


- Ensures that required connections are established to coincide with scheduled meetings.

- Maintain computer systems in a LAN environment and associated peripherals including workstations.

- Provide site logistic functions and inventory.

- Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Conducting Preventive Checks and Services and

 providing technical support to the VTC Engineer.

  • Possesses a familiarity and the ability to advise customers on the use of desktop videoconferencing
  • Individual must be highly organized and able to follow defined procedures while working in a team

environment

  • Demonstrate high-end customer service skills and excellent written and verbal communication

skills.

  • Assist Project Manager and VTC Engineer as needed.
  • Knowledge of various VTC hardware & amp; software brand(s) of equipment (Polycom, Tandberg, Cisco,

etc.)

  • Familiarity with Crestron control systems


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:


  • A minimum of an Associate’s degree AND two (2) years of combined experience of specialized

training and experience in telecommunication systems operation and management.

  • Experience must have been acquired within the last ten years.
  • Current and continuous experience in the field of telecommunications and operations in large- scale

voice, video teleconferencing, secure switching, transmission and data networks.

  • A demonstrated knowledge of and experience with Department of Defense (DoD) missions,

structure, doctrine, technical standards and security requirements.

  • A demonstrated knowledge in the testing of equipment, devices, components, systems and

methodologies. A/V systems including cameras, displays, and echo cancellation systems used for

audio and video conferencing.

  • The employee is required to possess a level of experience and proficiency to perform moderate to

complex technical end-to-end testing of US Military Command, Control and Communications (C3)

Video Teleconferencing (VTC) Circuits.


CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATION/LICENSING:


  • Must provide verifiable proof of equipment specific training (Certificate of Training).
  • CompTIA Security+ CE Certified
