The EHS Manager will be under the direction of the Director of Human Resources and will provide Environmental, Health, and Safety support to the company and personnel by administering Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and objectives,

coordinate safety programs and monitor safety and health regulations to ensure compliance with state and local safety and health regulations.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinate environmental training and compliance.

• Promote safety and health awareness by utilizing internal and external resources.

• Maintain, update, and implement written safety and health programs and policies in compliance with all state and

local regulations.

• Maintain required regulatory documentation and records.

• Maintain and update safety training tools (i.e. software, regulatory requirements). 

• Coordinate incident investigations including coordination of incident reporting procedures.

• Participate in new product/process reviews including process hazard analysis, operator training, etc.

• Support the engineering department in implementing engineering controls to minimize safety and occupational

hazards.

• Perform and coordinate monthly audits to ensure practices and records comply with state and local regulations.

• Administer training relative to various safety programs.

• Lead monthly safety committee meetings.

• Maintain and update SDS (safety data sheets) using the “MSDS” online system.

• Coordinate industrial hygiene sampling as directed.

• Responsible for ensuring that employees follow company GMP, sanitation, pre-requisite programs chemical control, and food safety plans and policies.

• Attend corporate safety conference annually.

• Maintain environmental permitting as necessary.

• Identify, develop, coordinate, and conduct safety training and programs in compliance with all state and local

regulations.

• Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to Multitask • Strong Decision-Making Skills • Excellent Communication, Interpersonal and Organization Skills • Must have pertinent knowledge of workers’ compensation, disability management, human rights, and other applicable legislation. • Must be trained in and follow company policies on GMP, sanitation, pre-requisite programs, chemical control, and food safety plans/policies. • Must be competent to carry out food packaging safety and quality responsibilities. • Skilled in the administration of employee training. • Persuasive, Encouraging, and Motivating. • Ability to Multitask • Excellent Computer skills e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. • Hours of work are as necessary to accomplish the position’s responsibilities, which could include evenings and weekends.

Food Packaging or Food Manufacturing experience.

 

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

• 3-5 years of supervisory/managerial experience in relevant Health/Safety/Environmental roles within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. • Degree in Health-Safety-Environment, a related field, or combination of relevant work experience combined with certain educational degree and/or credits
