Job Overview

The primary function of the Project Manager is to supervise Design-Build construction projects from beginning to end, ensuring that projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints. A deep understanding of the construction business and the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment are important for success in this position. The PM will control the design, schedule, cost and quality of construction projects. The PM will be expected to hire consultants, subcontractors, and manage engineers, architects and vendors. The PM is responsible for all project administration including construction documents, cost management, project schedule, organization, procurement and close-out, while maintaining compliance with contractual requirements. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Oversee and direct design-build construction projects from conception to completion
  •  Manage the entire city and state entitlement processes
  •  Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
  •  Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
  •  Coordinate with and assist Superintendent to oversee field operation
  •  Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory
  •  Meet contractual conditions of performance
  •  Review the work progress on daily basis
  •  Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
  •  Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses
  •  Analyze, manage and mitigate risks
  •  Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques


  •  Proven working experience in Project Manager role with large commercial design build projects
  •  Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
  • Understanding all facets of the construction process
  • Familiarity with construction management software packages
  • Ability to plan and see the “big picture”, and “think like an owner”
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Leadership and human resources management skills
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • BS degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering or related field
  • This position may require limited, occasional travel
