 Our client, a Denver based general contractor specializing in commercial tenant improvement is seeking to hire a Superintendent specifically with SCIF experience. Must provide references to verify SCIF experience prior to interviewing.


Overview:

The Superintendent reports to the Director of Field Operations. Responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising field crew and jobsite operations. Will provide technical direction and have responsibility for the safety, aspects of costs and profitability, productivity and overall quality of the work. Will establish productivity goals and measure project performance through scheduling the work of subcontractors and may supervise one or more carpenters or laborers.


Duties:

  • Oversees the daily construction activities at a jobsite and leads & directs the work of others
  • Responsible for the overall progress of the project as well as the scheduling of subcontractors including the delivery of all equipment and materials.
  • Ability to read and navigate drawings, specifications, subcontracts, and budgets
  • Assures the development and implementation of the Project Quality Management and Safety plans according to i2 standards
  • Develops and manages the construction schedule for the successful execution of the work performed. This includes consistent updates and look-ahead schedules.
  • Assists in the review of shop drawings, submittals, subcontract change orders and purchase orders.
  • Conducts weekly subcontractor coordination meetings and updates meeting minutes and schedules accordingly.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to assigned project team members and subcontractors.
  • Ensures work is executed according to contract terms and conditions.
  • Material procurement tracking and coordination of specifications with the office for accuracy and assistance with billing progress
  • Quality control for all trades.
  • Ensure jobsite safety and housekeeping is maintained and considered throughout all aspects of the project
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, procedures, means & methods.
  • Works with subcontractors to complete project within the given budget and time frame.
  • Resolves subcontractor contract disputes and assists Project Manager with any necessary order changes.
  • Responsible for validating and verifying completion of Subcontractors scope of work
  • Assists Project Manager in resolving owner contract disputes and assists Project Manager with any necessary order changes.
  • Coordinates the documentation of design conflicts and clarifications with the appropriate personnel. This includes proposing and being part of the solution.
  • Participates in weekly client/designer coordination meetings and provides accurate updated project schedules for discussion.
  • Able to communicate and coordinate effectively with internal team members, Subcontractors, and municipalities.
  • Able to communicate and coordinate effectively with Clients, Designers, Property Management, and Client Vendors and maintain a positive project environment and provide an exceptional client experience
  • Coordinates, documents, and performs the timely completion of all punch list items and develops a schedule as required by the owner for the successful start-up and commissioning of all systems.

Education/Experience:

  • Four year college or university degree preferred or 2-4 years related experience.
  • Experience with SCIF mandatory
  • Experience with Commercial Tenant Improvement highly preferred
  • Must confidently communicate with clients and peers.
