Job Title: Residential Maintenance Engineer

Reports to: Director, Construction and Projects

Location: New York, NY

Schedule: M-F; Occasional nights and weekends as needed

Experience: 5+ Yrs.

Salary: 120-125k, Health, 401K

 

 

Job Summary 

The new residential home, 25k Sq. Ft., and a total of 9k sq. ft. terraces in Lower Manhattan, seeks a reliable and service-oriented Residential Maintenance Engineer who is enthusiastic, on time, and flexible.

 

Work closely with subcontractors, vendors, and house staff to support household operations for a smart home technology home and outdoor terraces. Include a large gym, indoor pool/hot tub/steam/sauna facility, theater, and chef's kitchen.


Needs to have a strong knowledge of geothermal and water treatment systems, all MEPs, A/V, IT, Crestron, Lutron; & BMS.

 

You will report to the Construction and Residential Projects Director (CRPD) and coordinate closely with the Director of Estate Management and the residences' staff.

 

Will manage and coordinate the MEP, Pool, Elevator subcontractors, and various vendors to ensure that the systems are always running and maintained at top efficiency.

 

Professional, reliable, responsive, wears many hats, is a detail stickler, and enjoys problem-solving.

 

Provides courteous service to the Principal and guests, respect for boundaries, privacy, and confidentiality.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

Property Management Support

 

Cross-Office Collaboration

 

  • Build relationships with Administrative, Property, and Finance/Operations staff.

 

Qualifications:


  • Extraordinarily service-oriented and implicitly understands the nuances of providing invisible levels of service.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints (drawings)
  • 5 yrs+. of residential/commercial/residential; sequencing of subcontractors/vendors, quality, scheduling, scope of work controls, negotiation.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, dedicated to daily responsibilities.
  • Daily pool monitoring, PH balance, and more.
  • Optimistic and maintains a teamwork approach.
  • Flexibility with hours and scheduling; if needed, willing to work long hours and sometimes on short notice.
  • Adaptable to the standards of the Principal. Environmentally sensitive practices.
  • Courteous, pleasant demeanor, discreet, honest, non-obtrusive, and responsible character.
  • Excellent communication skills; speaking, interpersonal, and written correspondence.
  • Excellent computer skills. Smartphone competency
  • Physically able to frequently ascend/descend ladders, bend over or kneel for extended periods, and able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Neat and professional appearance.
  • Valid driver's license required, confident and safe driver.
  • Non-smoker
  • Fluent in English.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States at the time of hire.
