Essential Functions

  1. Month end close and Year end close for the divisions assigned.
  2. Prepares financial statements including Balance Sheets and Income Statements.
  3. Reconciles General Ledger accounts and investigate any unreconciled differences.
  4. Prepares journal entries including proper General Ledger account, department, division, and project cost coding.
  5. Maintains monthly amortization schedules.
  6. Prepares monthly bank reconciliations and investigates any unreconciled differences.
  7. Maintains fixed assets information/depreciation for the books.
  8. Complete Sales Tax returns.
  9. Interface with other departments in the education and application of accounting policies.
  10. Travels as required to assist divisions in their annual physical inventory.

Secondary Functions

  1. Assists in the preparation of annual budgets (sales and expense).
  2. Rotates certain treasury functions such as Daily Cash Reporting.
  3. Completes other government forms as assigned.
  4. Assists with ad hoc financial analysis, systems upgrade, process improvements, etc.
  5. Prepares various accounting reports for divisions and upper management.
  6. Assists various other departments with accounting related issues (e.g. G/L coding questions).

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, CPA not required.
  2. Minimum of five years’ experience in Accounting.
  3. A solid understanding of Finance and Accounting theories, practices, and terminologies.
  4. Proficiency in SAP and Vertex a plus.
  5. Must have strong computer skills and the ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Must be able to create and/or maintain Excel spreadsheets using formulas
  7. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision to meet deadlines.
  8. Must demonstrate the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  9. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Must be able to analyze a project/problem and define a better procedure/solution.
  10. Attention to detail is a must.
  11. Experience with multiple entities is a plus.
