Technician II
This Technician II position in Coil Coating R&D is responsible for a variety of activities related to matching new colors in a variety of coating systems, ensuring the performance of the new colors and preparing the new colors for manufacturing.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
• Functions with supervision.
• Contributes to the execution of experiments, records observations.
• Performs basic paint-formulation calculations, makes paint samples, applies paint samples, and understands and can accurately perform tests to customer/industry specifications.
- Runs corrosion and color assessments and measurements
- Enters data in spreadsheets and databases
• Operates basic equipment.
- Orders raw materials and supplies as needed.
• Responsible for inputting data and technical documentation in lab book or database on a daily basis.
• Writes basic reports outlining procedures used and results obtained.
• Verbally communicates routine information to supervisor and others on team.
• Is receptive and attentive to instructions and handles details carefully.
• Organizes work to use time efficiently.
• Communicates with internal customers.
• Complies with and displays knowledge of all safety and security regulations and maintains a clean work area. Adheres to company safety standards at all times.
• Additional duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status).
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to determine the difference between colors so you can correctly tint paint to the colors desired by customers.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Computer knowledge for basic inputting, communication and data analysis.
• Familiarity with scientific principles, products and/or processes
