Senior Web Services Developer

My client is looking for a senior programmer with experience developing and operating high-volume cloud services, end-to-end. You will be a key member of our Services team, responsible for design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and support of commercial services and websites. These sites and services primarily support the licensing side of our business, including license activation and validation, customer APIs and dashboards, end-user account management, internal order management and distribution, and billing. Services for the application protection side include customer data collection and performance telemetry data management. You’ll work with all these components, and more.

Most of our services are written in Java. Most are deployed into our self-managed data center, but some are deployed on cloud services, primarily Google’s. We are moving some of our production infrastructure to Kubernetes. We focus heavily on automated testing and expect candidates to share our passion for it.

Required qualifications

·        10+ years of professional software development experience.

·        2+ years of professional software development experience at a small company, and a strong desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment.

·        2+ years developing and supporting high-throughput (thousands of transactions per second) cloud services.

·        The confidence to manage your own priorities, based on good judgment and awareness of the overall business.

·        A passion for writing clear, straightforward, well-tested code.

·        Substantial experience with object-oriented programming, SQL, and Linux command-line tools.
