Job Summary:

As a Senior CNC Machinist with us, you will play a crucial role in our production process. You will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to produce high-precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. In addition to machining expertise, this role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to mentor and lead junior machinists.
Key Responsibilities:
1. CNC Programming: Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs using G-code or CAM software to control machining operations.
2. Machine Setup: Set up CNC machines, including tool selection, workholding, and fixture alignment, to ensure accurate and efficient machining.
3. Precision Machining: Operate CNC machines to produce parts with tight tolerances and exact specifications, inspecting workpieces to ensure quality.
4. Blueprint Reading: Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints to determine machining requirements.
5. Tool Management: Maintain and select cutting tools, monitor tool wear, and make tool changes as necessary to ensure optimal machining performance.
6. Quality Control: Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify the accuracy and quality of machined parts.
7. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve machining issues, making adjustments to CNC programs and setups as needed.
8. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, contributing to a safe and clean work environment.
9. Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to junior machinists, sharing knowledge and expertise.
10. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of machining processes, including program revisions, setup sheets, and inspection reports.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in CNC machining is preferred.
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, with a minimum of 15 years of experience.
- Proficiency in CNC programming, setup, and operation of various CNC machines.
- Strong blueprint reading skills and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of measurement tools and quality control processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Safety-conscious with a commitment to following safety protocols.
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of precision.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Leadership and mentoring skills for guiding junior machinists.
- Willingness to adapt to changing machining technologies and techniques.
