Role: Senior Database Developer

Location: Canton, OH

Schedule: Hybrid


Responsibilities:


Strategy & Planning:

  • Partner with business units to identify project requirements.
  • Identify technical project requirements and conduct feasibility and cost/benefit analyses.
  • Plan, organize, and report on project progress, coordinating with additional development teams.
  • Identify and implement internal process improvements.

  

Development & Deployment:

  • Execute complex programming assignments adhering to established standards and best practices.
  • Design application and database components for development projects.
  • Analyze business models and customer requirements to design and build Internet solutions using various technologies.
  • Provide advanced SQL expertise and guidance to full-stack developers.

  

Operational Management:

  • Maintain and modify applications, incorporating approved changes.
  • Provide support for application issues and troubleshoot SQL query performance.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert in resolving critical production problems.
  • Proactively improve non-performant database programs and coordinate with other developers.

  

Incidental Functions:

  • Research modern technologies and share knowledge with development teams.
  • Mentor and coach developers and/or Professional Apprentices.
  • Manage projects, make presentations, and provide tier 2 on-call support.
  • Address internal audit concerns for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.


Qualifications:


Formal Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology, or equivalent experience.


Knowledge & Experience:

  • 5+ years of IT experience.
  • Extensive experience in Oracle database applications development and UNIX/LINUX/Solaris environments.
  • Proficiency in PL/SQL techniques, SQL Loader, and database optimization.
  • Familiarity with relational SQL and NoSQL databases.
