Harrison Gray Search has partnered with a premier building, consulting, and estimating firm looking for a Junior Estimator. This position is based in DC/Baltimore, and will handle a significant amount of travel (more than 50% of the time).

This company is dedicated to helping its clients accurately measure and assess property loss. Its team of over 10 estimators operates across various regions, providing expert services to its clients and their insurance partners.

This position is ideal for someone looking to build a career in estimating and building consultancy. As a Junior Estimator, you will work closely with their experienced team, learning the intricacies of estimating and building consulting. You will gradually take on responsibilities for writing estimates using industry-standard software and managing a portfolio of estimates.

Responsibilities:

• Assist senior estimators in developing detailed scopes and pricing for property loss assessments.
• Learn and master industry-standard estimating software and methodologies.
• Support the preparation and presentation of estimates to insurance companies for approval.
• Travel to various job sites, including locations across the Carolinas, DC, OH, FL, KS, and other areas as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure accuracy and completeness of estimates.
• Gain experience in assessing damage from fire, water, and hurricanes, and contribute to the reconstruction planning process.

Qualifications:

• Basic understanding of construction and estimating principles.
• Previous experience in a similar role or internship is a plus.
• Strong willingness to learn and develop skills in estimating and building consultancy.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable learning new software.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
