Position Location:

This role can be based in one of the below offices with a hybrid work schedule (4 days in the office, 1 remote day). Our client is also open to fully remote candidates outside of the office's commutable range, as long as they are within the following states: Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, Arkansas, and New Mexico.

The Role:

As a Commercial Lines Underwriter, you will manage and expand an assigned book of business while acquiring new clients. You will assess individual risks, determine terms and pricing, and work with agents and brokers to build and maintain productive relationships. Additionally, you will provide informal leadership to less experienced underwriters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite new and renewal business by evaluating applications and making risk decisions in line with company guidelines.
  • Collaborate with agents and brokers, and maintain a productive loss ratio.
  • Support product development and pricing, and engage in territory-based customer development and relationship building.
  • Participate in continuing education and assist in training.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in insurance or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of commercial lines underwriting experience or similar.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to interpret business and regulatory information and maintain professional interactions.
