Customer Service Representative - Direct Business
Provide professional sales support and customer service for business that ships directly from the various factories our client represents to customers. This includes the following:
1. Establish and maintain excellent relationships with vendors and customers
2. Prepare and place orders from customers with suppliers and follow up to ensure that they are shipped and delivered properly and on time. This requires constant communication via phone, email, etc. with customers, suppliers, and sales representatives.
3. Work closely with sales representatives and provide support for cost requests and quotes, sample requests, orders, quality complaints, etc.
4. Assist with expediting orders as needed
5. Process invoices from suppliers to the Controller for timely payment
6. Prepare and send invoices to customers
7. Prepare and send various correspondence to customers (i.e. price update letters and quotes)
8. Negotiate pricing and ship dates with suppliers
9. Gather freight rates and set up shipments from various factories to customers
10. Assist with addressing quality issues from customers with suppliers
11. Assist with being a backup to customer service on the warehouse/distribution side of the business. This involves processing incoming orders from warehouse customers.
12. Prepare and provide quarterly sales numbers to the Controller
13. Strong abilities preferred with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and Windows XP
14. Familiarity with DI "Inform" software is a plus. Training will be provided.
15. Strong people skills, team player, positive attitude, work ethic, integrity, self-motivation, and accuracy to assimilate into a professional corporate culture -- all things that lend to being a positive influence in the work environment.
16. Website management, blogging, and social media knowledge are a plus, but not required
