Production Manager


JOB SUMMARY


This position must be able to work with all production and jobsite personnel at the Soda Springs, Idaho operation, in a professional manner to ensure production targets are achieved as required by the job schedule. This position must be able to prioritize duties and responsibilities to ensure that the production team succeeds.  


JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

•                    Collaboration with production and maintenance personnel in the execution of production activities in a manner that optimizes and maximizes the operational outputs. 

•                    Provide strategic guidance to personnel in the production departments.

•                    Review performance reports through email and websites daily and at times develop these reports.

•                    Create a culture that strives for continuous improvement and implementing low-cost alternatives and solutions for operational activities.

•                    Manage all production personnel, to include hiring, scheduling, development, and discipline to ensure productive and safe operations.

•                    Meet with the foreman daily to review work plans and provide advice on directions and objectives.

•                    Review equipment and personnel performance tracking sheets and make decisions for improvements.

•                    Assist with mine planning, including managing multiple deposits.

•                    Develop and maintain vendor relationships following company guidelines.

•                    Actively strive for improvements in equipment, methods, and processes.

•                    Work with Maintenance to balance maintenance and production requirements and work to achieve them by understanding risks and opportunities weighed against potential value.

•                    Recommend and assist in the development of action plans to continuously improve the operational processes.

•                    Continually reinforce best safety practices and ensure that all aspects of the work meet all safety and environmental regulations.

•                    Oversee safety & incident investigations; initiate reports and recommendations for the implementation of corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.

•                    Assist with the preparation of accurate annual cost and production budgets and update current fiscal year production and financial projections. 

•                    Substitutes for the Project Manager.

•                    Perform other duties as assigned.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS

•                    Ability to ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding, stairs, ramps, and the like with agility.

•                    Availability to work outside of normal business hours as demanded by the conditions at the operations. 

•                    Knowledge of basic computer functions in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, and Teams.

•                    Experience with Minestar Edge or other Production Tracking software a plus.

•                    Experience with shovels, off road trucks, and other large mining equipment.

•                    Experience with drill and blast programs.


Education and Experience: to perform this job successfully, an individual must have:


•                    High School Diploma or a General Education Degree

•                    Minimum of five (5) years related experience as a mine production superintendent or heavy civil construction superintendent or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Certificates/Licenses: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have:


•                    Valid Driver’s License
