As an Underground Project Manager, reporting to the Mining Division General Manager, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of large, high-profile, projects that impact your community.


Description:


  • Organize and manage the bid process in conjunction with the Mine Division Estimating Manager
  • Work closely with on-site project management to solve project challenges and identify value engineering opportunities.
  • Integrate new technology and mining methods at existing projects to improve production.
  • Collaborate with internal design team on design-build projects
  • Review and analyze bid documents to develop project labor, material, and equipment requirements and costs
  • Consult with suppliers and subcontractors during the bidding process to determine overall schedule and costs
  • Review project plans, specifications, estimating scopes, and budget during project procurement period to implement a project plan for completing projects
  • Organize transfer of project from estimating group to the field project team through site “kick-off” coordination
  • Develop work plans, manage procurement, project scheduling, and cost control for projects
  • Actively participate in production tracking and post-job analysis
  • Review and approve subcontractor and supplier monthly payment applications
  • Maintain database of historical estimates and project information records to assist with bid strategy


Requirements:


  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction/engineering for tunneling, mining, or underground works in project management, field engineering, estimating, and/or project scheduling
  • Effective written communication, verbal communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as design drawings, technical specifications, safety standards, contracts, and project schedules
  • Attention to detail with an emphasis on time management and organizational skills
  • Travel (up to 20%) to project sites to assist the field management team
