PURPOSE & SCOPE OF THE POSITION:
To assist in providing a full range of Human Resources services and support to Company. This position will be responsible for coordinating employment activities, recruiting, receiving and acting on employee complaints, administering employee records, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations, recommending and coordinating employee training activities and administering compensation, benefits and performance programs. This role will support the delivery of the mine sites human resources’ strategic objectives in a way that is action oriented, value added, and in line with our core values of Zero Harm, Success Through Teamwork, Results Driven, Courageous, and Accountability.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow safe work procedures and best practices.
- Assist with on-boarding and off-boarding activities.
- Participate in development and execution of orientation programs and procedures for new employees.
- Manage and maintain all aspects of the company uniform program
- Data entry including employee set-up, promotions, transfers, changes, terminations, etc.
- Ensure and maintain the confidentiality of employee information.
- Maintain progression plan documentation including audits and reviewing any recommended changes.
- Create and maintain monthly/weekly reporting.
- Coordinate and track Human Resources Training programs.
- Assist with employee recognition programs.
- Assist with the monthly drug testing program.
- Facilitates any reimbursements for relocation and onsite interviews.
- Administer policies and procedures while following the corrective counseling process.
- Investigate employee complaints and ensure accurate and timely documentation of concerns or issues.
- Facilitate actions to resolve employee issues and escalate them to appropriate management team.
- Maintain corrective counseling list – Ensure that employees are removed from the list in a timely matter and any changes are updated.
- Assist with all recruitment (including job fairs) and retention duties.
- Administrative duties such as making photocopies, preparing mailings, scans, email documents, create purchase orders, file and perform other clerical functions.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Industrial Relations, Human Resources Management or similar discipline or a minimum of 4 years of Human Resources experience.
- Experience with JDE HR or other HR/Payroll systems.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
- Experience in the mining industry.
- Experience with an Applicant Tracking System.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to travel domestically to attend job fair and other events.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sedentary: Exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.
