Position Summary:

As the IT Operations Lead, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and oversight of the IT department for the mine site and the primary liaison between the site and the corporate Information Technology department. You will be responsible for monitoring, upgrading, troubleshooting, uptime, and performance of mission-critical IT systems and networks for the entire site. You will also be responsible for the oversight and management of IT Technicians that stay onsite. This position will also be responsible for the enforcement and development of the organization and site IT policies and procedures, with guidance and support from Corporate IT. You must know how to work independently and be available to respond during non-working hours for urgent situations.

•          Manage the development, implementation, installation, operation, and documentation of information systems.

•          Implement and monitor management information systems policies and controls for data accuracy, security, and legal/regulatory compliance.

•          Collaborate with site management and Corporate IT to analyze computer system needs, determining project scopes and priorities.

·      Provide Level 1 LAN and WAN management and administration, escalating to the Corporate network team when needed.

·      Negotiate contracts with consultants, technical personnel, and vendors for services and products.

·      Provide support to end users in the selection, procurement, usage, and maintenance of software and hardware.

·      Drive separation efforts between IT and OT systems and networks in line with Corporate IT guidelines.

·      Manage computers and network backups, storage, and retrieval functions.

·      Create and review reports on computer and peripheral equipment production, malfunction, and maintenance.

•          Providing suggestions for improving work processes

•          Assisting Management by supporting change to achieve desired targets

•          Ensuring that plant and equipment operate within their safe working limits

•          Ensuring that correct equipment is used for the job

•          Participating in risk assessment methodology

•          Participating in safety initiatives

•          Receiving training and instruction as required

•          Maintaining good housekeeping standards


QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

•          Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

•          Seven (7) or more years of experience in information technology, with a preference for experience in the mining industry.

•          Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, demonstrating the ability to independently carry out job duties accurately.

•          Experience administering dispersed campus-style networks and Windows Server administration.

•          Bonus points for experience with common hypervisor technologies and industry-standard certifications (Cisco, Juniper, Microsoft, VMWare, etc.).
