Purpose

This role will play a pivotal role in shaping the Communications function on the Project. It will be responsible for the development and implementation of effective communications plans that align with organization goals and objectives. This role will provide guidance and support to the Communications Specialist to ensure successful execution of communication initiatives.

 

Responsibilities

 

· Development and execution of internal and external communication initiatives to build awareness and support around the project and manage brand reputation.

· Collaborate with the Leadership Team, project execution team and communities to identify key messaging priorities and target audiences both internally and externally.

· Support continued development of the Communications function by staying abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and relevant topics to support communications strategies and tactics that protect the organization's reputation and critical path to permitting.

· Serve as primary point of contact for media inquiries and coordinate media interviews and press releases.

· Cultivate relationships with local journalists, editors, and other media professionals to enhance the Company’s media presence.

· Monitor media coverage and prepare responses to manage the organization’s reputation effectively.

· Develop and implement internal communications plans to keep employees informed and engaged.

· Support senior management in cascading key messages and initiatives to the project teams.

· Support team in delivering communications plans on time while ensuring day-to-day communications needs are met.

· Work in line with the company policies, guidelines and procedures ensuring the highest level of quality, on schedule delivery, safety, and professionalism. This includes ensuring alignment with branding across communications for the project.

  

Qualifications

 

· Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field

· Fluency in written and spoken Spanish

· Strong listening, observation, and written and verbal communication skills

· Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

· Basic proficiency with Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn

· Ability to work both collaboratively and independently

· Strong attention to detail

· Resilience and flexibility

· Willingness and initiative to learn new skills

 

Technical Skills

 

· Writing, editing, and proofreading

· Working familiarity with AP or Chicago style

· Adobe Creative Suite a plus

· Content management systems a plus

· Graphic design, video editing, or photography a plus

 

Experience

 

· 5 to 10 years working experience
