Senior Civil Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION



We are currently looking for a team focused and dedicated Senior Civil Engineer with significant site piping experience. You'll be challenged with leading and designing facilities such as water and wastewater pump stations, treatment facilities for water and wastewater plants and conveyance and storage systems. Typical work includes a wide variety of industrial projects involving water and wastewater.

Essential duties include:

·        Serve as design engineer on a wide variety of industrial water and wastewater projects involving treatment facilities, pumping systems, pipelines, and collection systems

·        As a member of our team, you will actively be working with our network of engineers responsible for conventional design-bid-build and design-build projects for water and wastewater mining clients

·        Prepare cost estimates

·        Engineering calculations for pavement and drainage

·        Ensure standard engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various reports and design projects

·        Ability to write technical reports for proposals, basis of design, and design criteria

·        Provide leadership and mentoring to junior engineers

·        Manage work to a scope, schedule, quality and budget

·        Effective communication between team members

·        Lead the planning, evaluation and selection of preferred alternatives

·        This role will require you to lead the development of project specific technical reports, calculations, construction drawings and technical specifications

·        Perform conceptual and detailed design calculations and analyses

·        Lead the civil discipline effort and tasks on projects

·        Design of site infrastructure for water and wastewater projects

·        Prepare detailed engineering reports and supporting documents

·        Produce detailed construction documents and technical specifications

·        Prepare construction drawings

·        Perform other duties as assigned

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Specific skills and experience are as follows:

·        Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related degree

·        Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) preferred

·        4-8 years of experience with industrial water and wastewater system design; including the design of treatment systems, pipelines, and pumping systems

·        Design experience with pipe materials, valves and pumps

·        Hydraulic system calculations for pump stations, gravity and pressure pipelines, storm sewer pipelines, and hydraulic analysis for treatment plants

·        Proficiency in, Word, Excel, MS Project or Primavera,

·        Strong project management background preferred

·        Excellent technical writing and communication skills

·        Interest in business and client development
