Environmental Engineer

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain environmental permits with regulatory agencies. (BLM, USFS, DOGM)
  • Monitor mining operation to assure compliance that all environmental regulatory permits.
  • Accompany agency personnel during environmental inspections.
  • Plan and manage projects associated with environmental compliance.


Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mining/Civil/Environmental), Environmental Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication (listening, verbal, written) and interpersonal skills.
  • General understanding of engineering principles. (material science, water/waste-water, soil/rock mechanics, hydraulics/pump networks, economics)
  • Excellent computer skills. (AutoCAD, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineering License. (PE)
  • Experience in underground continuous and longwall mining methods.
  • Experience in regulatory (MSHA, BLM, USFS and/or DOGM) permitting and compliance.
  • Experience in project management.
