Title: Commercial Lines Account Manager

 

Salary: $75-95k base, depending on experience

 

Location: Livingston, NJ (4 days/week in office)

 

Job description

Our client, a mid-size and growing Insurance Agency is looking to add an individual experienced in servicing and marketing commercial property & casualty insurance within an insurance brokerage environment. The candidate should have a demonstrated ability to understand the nuances of various types of businesses and industries, their exposures and corresponding risk management and insurance coverage solutions; and experience in developing underwriting submissions; comparing and analyzing quotes and identifying favorable and unfavorable insurance terms and conditions.

 

Position Overview: The Account Manager will provide exceptional client service to the book of business, maintain all documentation applicable to the new and renewal business transacted and process, timely and accurately, all coverage related request from or on behalf of clients. Individual will work with other team members and team leader to facilitate smooth servicing of all current and prospective client’s insurance programs and round-out accounts as opportunities arise

 

Responsibilities of the Account Manager (not all inclusive):

  • Handle a diverse range of insurance products in the Commercial Lines arena.
  • Service and maintain all aspects of a variety of commercial accounts.
  • Work from typical renewal timeline on existing business.
  • Work on short timelines in competitive situations for prospective clients.
  • Gathering and analyzing underwriting information (update exposure and rating basis/complete renewal applications, review coverage needs, etc.).
  • Creation of submissions.
  • Comparison of competitive quotes with recommendation to client.
  • Examine binders and policies to determine if they match quoted coverage and underwriting specifications.
  • Assemble in draft and final form all accurate marketing proposals.
  • Assist with training of new members of the commercial lines team.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Prepare request for premium invoices and premium financing.
  • Prepare, review and distribute Certificates of Insurance and Auto ID Cards.
  • Examine, correct as needed, and distribute endorsements,
  • Provide professional responses to Client’s questions and issues.
  • Manage policy changes and documentation in Agency Management System (EPIC)
  • Support Team leader in client retention and expansion of business.

 

Qualifications for a position on a commercial lines property and casualty team:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Working Knowledge of Applied EPIC Agency Management System
  • Understanding of processes, procedures and timelines for new and renewal P&C business.
  • Comprehensive understanding of property and casualty coverages.
  • Strong analytical and Critical thinking Skills
  • Detail oriented.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills. Ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent\verbal and written communication skills
  • Affable and gracious manner with clients and business partners
  • Ability to work in Team setting. Interpersonal skills, including relationship-building skills with Clients, underwriters and Team Members.

 

Education Requirements:

  • College Degree or demonstrated equivalent work experience
  • Property & Casualty Insurance License
  • Insurance Designations a plus (ARM, CIC, CPCU, etc.)
  • Applied EPIC courses
