Job Summary:

In this role, the Senior Accountant will act as the Accounting Assistant to Accounting & Finance Manage and will work with day-to-day finance and accounting activities of a growing and fast-paced 80 person Commerical/Personal Insurance Agency. This person will wear many hats and be diversified in their skills. This is a great opportunity to come grow with a company and learn under a manager that cares!


What you will do:

Accounting Assistant to Accounting & Finance Manager:

· Maintain Agent Carrier Portals and Retrieve Statements and Invoices

· Responsible for Assisting with all Cash Applications into the Applied Management System pertaining to the Premium Trust on Agency Bill and Direct Bill.

· Wires, Checks, Epay payments.

· Assist with Credit References

· Input Direct Bill Billing

· Assist with Agency Billing

· Reconcile Direct Bill, collecting on Direct Bill past due commissions, researching and handling billing adjustments.

· Assist with Agency Bill Premium Collections, 30/60/90 Day.

· Retrieve all Return Premiums for Carriers and Wholesale Brokers

· Assist with Premium Financing

· Assist with Month End Accounting Statements to all insureds.

· Handle incoming emails and attachments.

· Assist with Discrepancies with Carriers and Wholesalers and Insured’s

· Assist with Ivan’s download commissions into the Applied System

· Assist with all Carrier Statements and Payables pertaining to Agency Bill.

· Assist with Distribution of Notice of Cancellations.

· Follow all Agency Service Fee Agreements

· Input and do cash application pertaining to Life and Health.

· Must have agency experience and Knowledge of Tam or Epic Management Systems.

· Have 2-5 years agency experience is a plus.

· Excellent time management and be able to work as a team and work closely with Management. Excel and Strong MS office skills are required.

· Task Management and strong accounting background. Room for growth.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

· Strong Excel skills

· Insurance Agency/Broker accounting


Preferred Abilities:

· Knowledge of Applied TAM or EPIC a plus!


Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration

· Five years or more of related experience work in accounting on the Broker/Agency Insurance industry in the absence of a related degree.
