In search of an Associate Creative Director, Print & Packaging Designer to be the trusted right-hand to the Creative Director for a Baby Lifestyle Brand. This full-time role involves overseeing international print, production, packaging, and art direction, along with managing teams in the US and Hong Kong/China. 


This opportunity is an on-site position with a hybrid schedule located in Los Angeles, California. Relocation assistance is available for candidates outside the area, and applications are accepted exclusively from individuals within the United States. 


The ideal candidate for the ACD role should be a seasoned, creative problem-solver with robust managerial experience and a background in international packaging within the CPG industry. The team thrives on resourcefulness and needs a leader who not only provides direction to designers but also rolls up their sleeves to execute their own ideas. Experience with taking a concept from inception to market, and collaborating with various creatives, from copywriters to video directors is essential.


What You’ll Do:

  • Lead US, Hong Kong, and China graphic design and production teams in alignment with marketing, product development, and digital strategies.
  • Conceptualize, design, and produce content for various brand projects and touchpoints, including packaging, marketing materials, print, branding, and digital assets.
  • Collaborate with the CBO/Creative Director to set the vision for photography and oversee all photography efforts for packaging, social media, and E-commerce.
  • Maintain high standards in concept development, design, and photo/video art direction, ensuring meticulous supervision of retouching and production.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors across departments, working closely with Brand Marketing, Global Marketing, Product Development, E-commerce, and Social Media teams.
  • Ensure consistent application of brand identity across all collateral and marketing materials, driving creative consistency globally, especially in packaging and digital platforms.
  • Lead the team in developing and qualifying commercial package designs, including artwork for regulatory submissions like FDA labeling.
  • Manage a team of graphic and production designers, fostering enthusiasm for creativity and new technologies, while ensuring they deliver on business objectives.


What You’ll Bring:

  • 10+ years of industry experience in creative strategy, with a focus on packaging, print, and photo/video art direction. In-house CPG experience preferred.
  • 7+ years of managerial experience leading international design teams in the US, Hong Kong, and China.
  • Extensive knowledge of design workflow and FDA packaging regulations.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing original ideas across channels.
  • Excellent communication design skills and ability to drive messaging.
  • Experience in budget allocation and project management.
  • Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
