Our client is seeking a Digital Accessibility PM/PO to join their team! Best suited candidates will have experience as both PM and PO, high skilled in Digital Accessibility, can evangelize accessibility to developers and QA, and overall ready to help lead the broader teams in the Digital Accessibility.


Job Summary

  • Working to define the Digital Accessibility roadmap
  • Partnering with engineering teams to ensure code compliant Digital Accessibility on the front end
  • Partnering with quality teams to ensure code compliant Digital Accessibility on the back end
  • Reviewing overall landscape for Accessibility and quality and respond to audits, internally
  • Wear many hats: PM, PO, Evangelist, QA



Required Qualifications


  • 5+ years experience as a Product Manager / Product Owner in a Digital Accessibility team
  • Highly skilled influencer who can evangelize team and enroll on the accessibility roadmap
  • Strong understanding of WCAG and ARIA specification as well as knowledge of U.S. and international digital accessibility laws and standards.
  • Detailed knowledge of a broad range of technologies:
  • Accessibility on various platforms including Windows and MacOS
  • Mobile accessibility on various platforms including Android and IOS
  • ARIA 1.1 specification
  • Video and other digital media
  • PDF and other document standards
  • Hands On knowledge of Assistive Technology (e. g screen readers, magnifiers, alternative input, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or relevant field
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines


Desired Qualifications


  • Familiarity of technologies including but not limited to:
  • HTML 4 and 5
  • CSS 2 and 3
  • JavaScript Libraries
  • React and React Native
  • Familiarity with Figma (or other design and prototyping platform), Jira, Miro, Confluence.
  • Ability to analyze code for accessibility issues
  • Experienced in user/usability research
  • Detailed and results-oriented, able to analyze data to justify accessibility decisions and apply key learnings.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities
  • Experience working with Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs) is a plus
  • Consistently uses communications skills to influence outcomes within a known skill set
