WTR Search has partnered with an industry-leading energy company to locate a Site Wind Turbine Technician in the Rochester, NY area. This is a permanent direct hire opportunity with a competitive salary and benefits package as well as relocation assistance if needed.

Responsibilities

• Assure that all operation and maintenance activities are performed in a safe manner consistent with established policies and procedures.
• Troubleshoot and repair complex problems associated with various mechanical and electrical components
• Conduct and review safety analyses of potential electrical and mechanical hazards in the wind turbines, switch room, and the O&M building
• Perform preventative maintenance activities safely and efficiently on wind turbines
• Utilize appropriate safety gear, protective equipment, and control or dissipation of energy sources to ensure work is performed in a safe manner
• Conduct safety analysis and review of hazards and energy sources before and while performing any work assignment on the wind farm
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Requires 2-4 years of experience as a wind technician
• Must have strong operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting experience
• Experience working on Vestas or Gamesa Wind Turbines is preferred
• Ability to move and manipulate up to 50 pounds, climb vertical ladders, and work at heights of 300 feet
• Have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
• Must be authorized to work in the US
