As a Systems Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to use your detail orientation, analytical talents, and extensive IT knowledge to install, maintain, and support server and data center technologies and ensure maximum performance and availability. You’ll utilize your technical expertise to design multiple datacenter servers, Windows/Linux operating systems, system virtualization technologies, storage area networks (SAN), and disaster recovery plans/architecture as well as assisting the Senior Systems Architect in providing detailed data center and system rack designs, implementation plans, migration/rollback strategies, and disaster recovery plans.  You’ll also have the opportunity to use your strong communication skills in systems level forecasting and planning, leading small-medium size projects, and reporting on IT system performance. 

The contributions you can anticipate making:

Designing the core financial system, express teller systems, and all supporting information services and servers (shared file servers, print servers, application servers, etc.).

Assisting the Senior Systems Architect on the virtual server infrastructure (virtual data centers), SAN and storage systems, strong authentication (Active Directory), enterprise server management and reporting tools, and other data center supporting technologies.

Supporting the Senior Network Architect with the on-going development and maturation of IT enterprise systems management processes and strategies in alignment with the strategic vision of the organization and departmental goals of IT Infrastructure.

Providing recommendations, proposals, and/or business cases to management justifying system investments and assisting with the planning, execution, and project management of small-medium size IT based projects.

Making recommendations for all phases of system architectural activities including concept definition, requirements analysis, design, development, integration, installation, operations, maintenance, and decommissioning.

Assisting the Senior Systems Architect in the development of the Network Management Program and complying with its standards and rule sets.

Continually identifying, assessing, and mitigating technology impacts to the organization and assisting with effective process improvement initiatives designed to increase users’ satisfaction and minimize time lost.

Integrating quality assurance management into organizational life cycle processes (i.e. developing, researching, and implementing, etc.).

Quantifying and modeling impact characteristics within the company to establish meaningful, actionable impact categories.

Establishing metrics to evaluate and measure the trends of impacts and effectiveness of services provided.

To be successful in this role, you will be:

Experience:

Four years of experience with the implementation, operation, and support of enterprise IT technologies including; Microsoft, Linux, storage systems (SAN), and networking.

Experience in a depository institution is highly desirable.

Experience with scripting, HTML, MS-Office, and Visio.

Education:

Formal training and education in technology related studies. Related college degree preferred.

At least one of the following certifications preferred:  CCNA, MCSE, Redhat, VM, or NetApp.
