The position involves the execution of project scope in the areas of Software (PLC, Robot, vision etc.), hardware and or fluids (Paint / dispense / air). Is the primary point of contact for the engineering and execution of the company's Paint and Dispense systems for our customers. Supports execution of the project scope per the customer purchase under the direction of the Senior Paint Program Manager as well as guidance from the Paint Team Group Manager.


Required Skills/Education/Experience

  • 5+ years experience in Paint/Dispense robotic systems and/or other closely related automation assembly system integration or OEM within Automotive market
  • Minimum of an Associates Degree in an Engineering Tech field with 5-10 years Paint / Dispense robotics and/or other closely related automation assembly system integration or OEM within Automotive market
  • Preferred Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline with 10+ years experience in Paint / Dispense robotics and/or other closely related automation assembly system integration or OEM within Automotive market
  • Experience with industrial robotics software, hardware, and PLC interfaces
  • Experience with paint systems fluids
  • Experience with paint electrical hardware
  • Experience with common Paint & Dispense processes is a must
  • Experience at a System Integrator or OEM
  • Experience in tracking and managing engineering changes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal with team members, suppliers & customers
  • Ability to communicate and engage in an international team environment
  • Must be computer literate. MS Office is a must. Autocad is desired.

Major Functions & Duties

  • Create and Manage Budget, Project Timeline, Open Issues matrices
  • Creation of hardware / fluids engineering designs (dependent on knowledge/skillset) as needed
  • Support preparation of proposals and quotes for Sales team, with input on technical solutions as well as manhours needed to complete, from various internal teams.
  • Able to identify and understand key technical risks. Provide ideas on how to solve or address said risks
  • Continually upgrade and maintain knowledge of robot products, systems and their implementations including competitor’s robot products
  • Travel (up to 35%) to customer site to support installation / startup

Major Responsibility and Authority

  • Responsible for all budget and financial aspects of the project(s)
  • Responsible for supporting customer buy-off and final project sign-off with customer and end users
  • Responsible to understand customer technical specifications and project SOW requirements

Principal Accountabilities

  • Reports to Senior Program Manager
  • Required to follow and Adherence to our safety, standards as well as general customer specifications
  • Accountable for complete customer satisfaction per assigned tasks and goals
  • Communication and coordination with Paint Engineering managers as well as other senior manager as may be required.
