HRU Tech is seeking a skilled Structural Dynamics Analyst specializing in assisting an international defense, aerospace and security company in Fridley, MN. 


Contract: 6-month contract (possibility to be extended OR direct hire)


Schedule: Day Shift (9/80 schedule)


Compensation/Benefits: $57-60/HR (Health Insurance, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO)


Description: Join our team as a Structural Dynamics Analyst where you'll collaborate with munitions and weapons programs, addressing their structural analysis needs. Using tools like ABAQUS, NASTRAN, and Hyper Works, you'll drive the analysis process, gather material properties, and deliver comprehensive reports to senior analysts and engineers. In this role, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the structural integrity and performance of critical munitions and weapon systems. Your expertise will directly contribute to the advancement of defense technologies, where precision and reliability are paramount. As part of a dynamic team, you'll have the opportunity to tackle complex challenges and make significant contributions to cutting-edge projects in the field of structural dynamics analysis.


Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with staff analysts and program engineers to determine program analysis needs
  • Drive the analysis process, from tool selection and input collection to simulation and computations
  • Work with the internal materials group to gather or measure necessary material properties
  • Provide detailed results and recommendations to senior analysts and program engineers
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on the analysis process for future use


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering OR related discipline
  • 5-7 years’ experience in structural analysis
  • Proficiency in ABAQUS, NASTRAN, OR Hyper Works 
  • Pass background check/drug screen


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent field
  • Experience in structural analysis in defense-related applications, particularly munitions or weapon systems
  • Proficiency in one or more analysis tools: ABAQUS, ANSYS, NASTRAN, COMSOL
  • Working knowledge of fluid-structure interaction or other multi-physics environments
  • Experience with MATLAB
  • Familiarity with Pro/E or Creo
