Compensation:
$38.00/hr to $42.00/hr (depending on experience). Overtime is paid at 1.5x over 40 hours.

Job Description:
HRU Technical Resources has partnered with a major automotive manufactuter to hire a Production Supervisor for our Kansas City, KS facility. This location is where we proudly build 2 popular mid-sized vehicles. In this role, you will:
•    Manage the quality operations within a group of 10 to 20 hourly employees.
•    This job requires walking/standing up to 8 hours each day.
•    You will have supervisory responsibility for employees engaged in the quality inspection of production products.
•    Work involves the coordination of a number of inspection functions involving the ability to make decisions within the limits of product quality standards and policies.
•    Work performed under general supervision, while exercising a high level of independent judgment.

Responsibilities:
•    Responsible for monitoring and enforcing the quality standards of an assigned area. Communication of department and plant quality metrics.
•    Escalation of issues to all levels of management following escalation guidelines.
•    Implement and follow systems that prevent re-occurrence of known issues through problem solving process. Leverage resources to solve quality issues.
•    Build and maintain good working relationships with employees, union and management. Understands and consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between our company and the United Auto Workers Union.
•    Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping.
•    Motivate, train and develop employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods. Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training).

Required Skills / Experience:
•    We are generally seeking 10+ years of manufacturing experience (automotive industry preferred but any relevant experience will be considered).
•    Able to make decisions independently with limited supervision. We are seeking someone who is self-driven and knows how to manage their time wisely / knows how to prioritize.
•    We need people to be quality oriented and have good attention to detail.
•    Knowledge of basic technology and standards of area supervised. People who are tech savvy / can work with computers.
•    Relatively high level of analytical ability where problems are complex.
•    Well developed oral and written communication skills.
•    Knowledge of scheduling, manufacturing processes, quality control standards, and other management systems.
•    High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and elicit work output.
•    Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required.

Education:
•    Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED at a minimum. Higher level education (such as an Associate or Bachelor’s degree) is welcome but not required.  

Work Environment / Other Info:
•    Shift rotation between 1st and 2nd shift every 2 to 3 months. 1st shift = 6:30am to 3:00pm. 2nd shift = 4:00pm to 12:30am.
•    This role will have regular overtime (5-10 hours per week on average). Overtime is paid at 1.5x.
•    In general, you will work 2 to 3 Saturdays every month. Sundays will be as needed for repairs. Work on Sunday will be paid at double time (2.0X) when over 40 hours for the week.
•    This work environment is temperature controlled.
•    There will be a background check and drug screen if offered the role. Drug screen does NOT include cannabis.
