Job Location:

Greer, SC (just outside of Greenville, SC). There is a VERY generous relocation package available for candidates who are relocating from outside the area (50+ miles away).


Compensation:

$25.00/hr to $35.00/hr (depending on experience). Overtime is paid over 40 hours (at 1.5x). Double time is paid if working on Sundays. You will also be eligible for bonuses for good work performance.

Job Description:

HRU Technical Resources has partnered with BMW to place Equipment Maintenance Technicians at their major North American plant just outside of Greenville, SC. These openings are to support a new stamping plant / press shop that is being constructed (candidates will initially help with the installation of equipment and then work at the stamping plant / press shop once it opens in 2025). In this role you will oversee equipment modifications for process changes, new models, and expansions. You will troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and modify press shop equipment to improve systems uptime and reliability. You will also maintain and update all process documentation. Candidates must demonstrate the knowledge and ability to employ safe work practices. You must be willing to travel internationally up to 90-day increments for a period of at least one year for expert training. Must be available to work any shift.

 

Qualifications:

·       Associate Degree in a technical manufacturing discipline and 2 years of automation/PLC controls with industrial maintenance, mechanical, electronic systems & PC controls OR

·       High school diploma/GED and 2 years technical maintenance experience PLUS 2 years automation/PLC controls with industrial maintenance, mechanical, electronic systems & PC controls (4 years total experience)

·       Must be a highly flexible individual that can adjust to changes quickly. Must be willing to work overtime and holidays as needed

·       Successful candidates must pass a computer-based technical knowledge assessment and a hands-on electrical troubleshooting proficiency test working with live current

 

Preferred Experience:

·       Experience in Beckhoff controls and hydraulics highly preferred

·       Press Shop maintenance experience is a plus

·       Experience in preventive & predictive maintenance of mechanical presses & utility equipment is a plus

·       Experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of closed-loop servo systems

·       Experience in design, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of sequential processes

·       Experience working with high level programming languages

·       Experience in interfacing controls, processes and feedback devices

·       Experience in Human/Machine interface devices and associated software

·       Experience in installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of AC variable frequency drives

·       3+ years of hands-on experience in the following areas is highly desirable: three-phase power, pneumatic controls, Siemens PLC S7 experience.

 

Work Environment / Other Info:

  • Candidates MUST be open to ANY shift.
  • There will be some travel for training. Training will be in Europe and will take place 90 days at a time (spread out over time). 1 year total training time is expected.
