HRU Technical Resources is seeking an experienced, high level Senior Engineer to work on HV BEV for a specialty vehicle manufacturer in Spartanburg, SC.


Contract: 6- Month Contract (Extension likely OR direct hire possibility) 


Schedule: ONSITE 1st shift M-F


Compensation: $45.00-$49.00/HR

Description: The Senior Engineer designs functional, reliable, and cost-effective heavy-duty vehicle components while performing engineering analysis on new & existing vehicles. In this role, we are seeking a Senior Engineer to join our dynamic team, where you will play a pivotal role in the design, analysis, and integration of components into both existing and new specialty vehicles tailored for government use. Under supervision, you will utilize your expertise to perform engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks, adhering to industry standards and processes. Your impact will extend to supporting senior engineers, managing projects, and collaborating with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure seamless execution. With your standout qualifications including a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and hands-on experience in automotive or heavy-vehicle systems, you will lead the charge in evaluating designs for performance, safety, and reliability. Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Support more senior engineers in the preparation of plans, designs, computation methods, and/or reporting
  • Responsible for a project or part of a project of limited complexity
  • May be responsible for managing multiple projects
  • Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally
  • Provide guidance or mentorship to entry level engineers, designers, or technicians working on a common project
  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues
  • Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards. Ensure that technical issues are conducted within the framework of company policies and procedures
  • Perform and Directs preparation of layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material
  • Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements
  • Provide technical assistance for production support
  • Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication
  • Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations
  • Create and maintain project documentation for analysis, research, and historical records
  • Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to calculate or model system performance and optimize designs
  • Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering and communicate status via verbal or written communication


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Accredited Bachelors degree in Engineering OR related field
  • Five to Six (5-6) or more years of related experience
  • Mechanical knowledge of automotive OR heavy vehicle equipment related systems
  • Experience with CAD system
