Job Description

Develop and present training programs for customers, distributors and FANUC Robotics’ personnel. The position requires daily interface with customers and FANUC America Corporation (FAC) personnel in a technical training capacity. In addition, the instructor will interface with other groups within FAC to ensure that training materials being presented are in accordance with the latest information available regarding product development.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·         Teach FANUC material, the classes will contain the following:

o   Power Point Presentations with Objectives and tasks

o   Detailed Instructor outlines

o   Student outlines and handouts

o   Objective based laboratory exercises

o   Pre-test and post test

·         Write, edit and verify training documentation as required:

o   Student outlines and handouts

o   Power Point Presentations

o   Report discrepancies between product and documentation to appropriate departments

·         Maintain personal habits and work ethics that are in accordance with the FAC corporate culture and demonstrate a commitment to customer focus and continuous improvement

·         Prepare and maintain classrooms, training laboratory and the training office area to ensure a “Best in Class” training experience for the students.

·         Establish personal and professional goals and objectives according to OMQ. The instructor is required to report progress as to the accomplishment of these goals to the cRc Training Department management at intervals defined by management.

·         Participate in the FAC Employee Suggestion Program (ESP).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

·         SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE

o   Have proficient communication and presentation skills

o   Will demonstrate the ability to analyze a new product for the purposes of training documentation and training class development.

o   Will demonstrate the ability to complete assigned projects as scheduled. The completed project(s) must conform to specifications as defined by project team leadership and/or cRc Training Department Management.

o   Will demonstrate the ability to interface with other technical writers and instructors for the purposes of project coordination, continuity and completion.

o   At a minimum, the Instructor will possess the ability to identify process inefficiencies and suggests solutions to eliminate them. With experience, the Instructor will independently develop and implement process improvements.

o   Is always required to set a positive example for others.

o   Will strive to reduce product costs and improve quality.

o   Is respected by and respectful of customers and peers.

o   Will exhibit self-confidence in all assigned job responsibilities.

·         EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION

o   Associate degree in Education, Instructional Design or technical related field, or equivalent experience, BS/BA preferred

o   Minimum three years’ experience in technical training capacity

o   Possesses extensive skills in the area of technical writing and technical training.

o   Understands basic Electrical, Mechanical and Pneumatic Theory.

o   Knowledge of production automation process operations and functionality.

o   Basic Electrical, Mechanical and Pneumatic print reading.

·         PHYSICAL EFFORT & DEXTERITY

o   Lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.

o   Standing for long periods.

·         VISUAL ACUITY, HEARING, SPEAKING

o   Ability to read, write and speak fluent English

o   Requires excellent oral and written communication skills

·         ENVIRONMENT & SCHEDULING

o   Willing to work occasional overtime, as required to meet customer requirements.

o   Requires travel - 50%

·         DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC SPECIAL REQUIREMENT (TRAINING)

o   To maintain efficiency while preparing and presenting training classes and while sharing the maintenance requirements of the training laboratory, the Instructor is required to provide personal tools. At a minimum, the tools required are:

§  Phillips screwdriver, straight blade screwdriver, metric hex key wrench set, diagonal cutters and a tape measure.

§  cRc Training Department management may modify the list of personal tools as required.
