SUMMARY: Designs, improves, and supports all cabinet manufacturing activities and functions.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates with managers and supervisors to establish production and quality control standards.
  • Implements, and maintains processes, procedures, and programs to improve the quality of finished products
  • Prepares pre-production sign offs to assure correct machine settings, materials, etc., are satisfactory to all parties.
  • Identifies in-house quality issues.

·      Keeps up to date on overall activities of ongoing production, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.

  • Leads product nonconformance investigations.
  • Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.
  • Troubleshoot new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes.
  • Investigate or resolve operational problems, such as material use variances or bottlenecks.
  • Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve manufacturing processes or products or to reduce costs, using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts.
  • Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing.
  • Determine the sequence of machine operations, and select the proper cutting tools needed to machine workpieces into the desired shapes.
  • Analyze job orders, drawings, blueprints, specifications, and design data to calculate dimensions, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates.
  • Develop, coordinate, or monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, or operation of product designs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·      Two to four years related experience or equivalent

·      Strong knowledge of cabinet manufacturing processes.

·      Ability to develop clear, accurate, product design blueprints and machine instructions.

·      Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.

·      Experience in quality assurance metrics, including understanding of statistical analysis.
