Electrical Technician II

Job Summary:

The Electrical Technician II will build, rework, test, repair, and install wiring harnesses on vehicles and

the bench. The role will follow instructions from blueprints, bill of materials (BOM), schematics, and

piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID). The role will follow procedures to set up and run quality

checks on various wiring harnesses. The Electrical Technician II will perform independent project tasks

and collaborate with customers and team members.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assemble, install, perform functional and safety tests and reverse engineer on wiring using hand

tools and proper assembly techniques by following work instructions (prints, cut sheets, sample

harnesses).

• Install lights, brackets, and electrical hardware to special test boxes, automotive components,

and vehicles according to specifications.

• Test wiring and components for correct operation using a schematic and diagnostic equipment.

• Perform wiring reworks and repairs on bench and vehicle, crimp and solder, de-pin terminal,

create basic schematics and reverse engineer harnesses.

• Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting

breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs.

• Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up.


Education and Experience (required):

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum of 4 years of electrical work experience.


Education and Experience (preferred):

• Certificate in Automotive Electrical Technology or related.

• Valid driver’s license.

• Experience installing components on circuit boards.

• Experience with automotive powertrain systems or electric battery systems.


Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (required):

• Mechanical aptitude with basic understanding of automotive systems and ability to crimp and

solder wires. Proficient with hand and power tools and able to operate vehicle lifts.

• Proficient electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills and the ability to understand electronic

schematics and electronic part documentation.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Knowledge of MS Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Able to work overtime and weekends.


Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (preferred):

• Broad knowledge of vehicle systems (powertrain, chassis, electrical, thermal, exteriors, interiors,

etc.) and related components, component materials & fasteners.
