HRU is seeking a skilled, experienced Process Engineer to assist a large automotive multinational manufacturer in Kansas City, KS. 

 

Contract: 12-month contract (likely to be extended OR direct hire)

 

Schedule: Rotating shift (2nd & 3rd)

 

Compensation/Benefits: $40.00-45.00/HR (Health Insurance, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Holiday Pay)

 

Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer with a specialized emphasis on welding techniques to lead the development and enhancement of manufacturing processes and equipment. The role involves collaborating closely with production, maintenance personnel, and suppliers to ensure the achievement of plant goals in safety, quality, delivery, and cost, with particular attention to welding standards and best practices. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in welding processes, along with a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing and assembly techniques. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential, as is the ability to provide technical guidance, evaluate expenditures, and support compliance processes. Strong communication and teamwork skills are paramount for success in this dynamic role. A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline, coupled with 10+ years of experience in welding and manufacturing, is required for consideration. Job Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Propose and evaluate manufacturing process and equipment for assigned areas.
  • Meet plant goals and standards in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Coordinate the effective use of personnel, materials, and equipment in supporting SPQRC initiatives.
  • Evaluate expenditures for processes and/or equipment.
  • Provide technical assistance and training for assigned plant operations.
  • Works closely with production and maintenance personnel and suppliers to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Support and implement the QS9000/ISO14001/(GMS) Global Manufacturing System compliance processes
  • Support plants in achieving Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness and Cost goals

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering OR related discipline
  • 10+ years’ experience in welding/manufacturing role
  • Knowledge of FANUC robotic controls
  • Experience with Laser welding & laser brazing processes
  • Expert knowledge of manufacturing & assembly processes 
  • Pass background check/drug screen
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
