HRU has teamed up with an innovative consultancy company in downtown Grand Rapids to find a contract iOS Mobile App Developer to join it's team for the next five to six months. We are looking for a contract Senior Mobile Application Developer to develop customer solutions for native iOS and iPadOS in Swift. This role will require software engineering expertise to develop user experiences for mobile medical documentation and care management in the field.

The ideal candidate will have experience delivering mobile solutions that are technically excellent, performant, and tightly aligned with UI designs. To be effective in this position, you must feel comfortable delivering independently but collaborating remotely within a cross-functional team. Flexibility in moving from early prototype stages of an application to a production-ready solution will be important, as will engagement designers in reviews and collaboration using tools such as Figma and Miro.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mobile experiences using Swift and SwiftUI.
  • Design and develop software within an iterative, low-fidelity Agile environment.
  • Collaborate with architects, technical leads, product owners, and UI/UX leads to understand, estimate and implement the user experience and UI design.
  • Participate in team pairing, mobbing and design collaboration, along with lightweight ceremonies/rituals.

Experience

  • 6+ years of experience with software development, with 2+ years of iOS mobile development experience.
  • Proficiency with Swift and SwiftUI required; exposure to other frameworks such as Kotlin, React Native, Javascript frameworks and other languages are also helpful.
  • Demonstrated experience with packaging and delivering reusable components in a mobile app context.
  • Experience with using test and deployment automation for mobile applications.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical team members in daily work (estimation, design reviews, demos, etc.).
  • Exposure to team-based development practices such as Git branching, merging, code reviews.

Assignment Details

  • Duration: Mid-June to September 30, 2024, with further extension possible.
  • Commitment: Full-time (36-40 hours weekly), excluding holidays
  • Rate: Hourly rate commensurate with experience
  • Presence: Full remote supported with availability during typical CST/EST workday
  • Note: Priority will be given to candidates with an active Dept. of Defense Common Access Card (CAC).
