HRU Technical Resources is seeking an adaptable Design Engineer to assist a large American defense industrial company located in Oshkosh, WI.


Contract: 6 Month Contract (Extension likely)


Schedule: Onsite M-F


Compensation: $30.00-$35.00/HR

Your responsibilities span from conducting sophisticated engineering calculations to leveraging cutting-edge design methodologies, all aimed at delivering solutions that are not just functional and reliable but also cost-effective. Ensuring adherence to stringent industry standards and company protocols, you'll evaluate designs meticulously for performance, safety, and reliability. Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Under close supervision, perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to Oshkosh as well as general industry engineering standards and processes.
  • Support senior engineers in the preparation of basic plans, designs, computation methods, and/or reporting.
  • Under close supervision, work on projects of limited complexity in a support role.
  • Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.
  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues.
  • Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards. Ensure that technical issues are conducted within the framework of company policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability.
  • Perform and Directs preparation of layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.- Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field along with Internship experience or six (6) or more months of related work experience.
  • Able to prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports and presentations
  • Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy vehicle related systems
  • Experience with a high-level CAD system.
