HRU Technical Resources is seeking a direct hire entry level Industrial Electrician Apprentice to assist a large multinational large diesel engine corporation in Jamestown, NY.



Type of Role: Direct Hire


Schedule: 100% onsite M-F


Compensation: $25.27/HR

Description: As an industrial electrician apprentice at a renowned manufacturer of diesel engines, you'll immerse yourself in the world of electrical systems integral to the operation of diesel engines. Working alongside experienced technicians, you'll contribute to the installation, upkeep, and repair of electrical components vital for the performance of these powerful engines. Your duties will encompass assisting in the maintenance of motors, generators, control systems, and other electrical apparatuses specific to diesel engines. A key aspect of your apprenticeship will involve mastering the interpretation of technical documentation, including blueprints and schematics unique to company systems. Safety will be paramount as you undergo rigorous training in adherence to industry regulations and company protocols, ensuring a secure work environment for all involved. Through hands-on experience, you'll develop proficiency in diagnosing and resolving electrical issues efficiently, thereby optimizing the reliability and efficiency of diesel engines. This apprenticeship not only offers practical skills but also invaluable mentorship, laying the foundation for a successful career in the diesel engine industry.


Duties/Responsibilities:

• As part of a formal skilled trades training program, assists site Electrician skilled trades to learn and develop electrical skills in a manufacturing environment under direct guidance.

• Apprentice will be required to successfully complete and document specified classes and a minimum quantity of on the job training hours.

• Stop work and immediately report any major injury hazards.

• Comply with HSE standards, policies, procedures and regulations.

• Promote interdependence by looking out for one another.

• Correct hazards within your control and capabilities.

• Recognize how your work may impact the environment and work to minimize the negative impact.

• Performs supervised work in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and specifications using various tools, measuring and testing instruments.

• Provide feedback into the Preventive Maintenance system.

• Allen Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting.

• Knowledge of Fanuc Robotics (Basic Knowledge – robot handling / programming).

• Equipment uptime and downtime failure analysis.

• Diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and specifications using various tools, measuring, and testing instruments.

• Quality inspections.

• Proficient performing troubleshooting, electrical repairs, and maintenance of equipment

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2-year technical degree in field such as mechatronics, Electrical constructions & maintenance, Automation engineering technology and electrical engineering technology will be considered

• Trained in skilled trades area or equivalent technical training.

• Individuals completing the program will be eligible for an NYS Journey worker Card.
